God’s design –> going “against the grain”, taking the road less traveled

Blog image

God’s design has always been going against the grain, against the majority, the road less taken.

The Bible tells us in Matthew 7:13-14:

“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.”

What’s so interesting to me is that we can apply the exact same truth to our health and modern society. I don’t think the world Jesus lived in had the same health troubles and concerns we face today–many of which are our own doing.

We’ve created our own downward spiral as a society because of the culture and habits we’ve cultivated around fast food, candy, soft drinks and convenience.
So it takes a wise person, someone astute, who chooses to see past the everyday ploys of marketing, advertising and gimmicks, and who intentionally decides to take the road less traveled–that ultimately leads to better health.

Going against the grain (both literally and figuratively) is the only way we will begin to reclaim our health, our vitality, our energy and our waistlines! But man it’s not easy!

Without going into an extensive nutritional lesson on how grain, wheat and gluten negatively affect our bodies, I encourage you to begin reclaiming your life and the health God created your body to have–one bite at a time.

>> Final thought: This week I encourage you to go against what is so easily available to us via soda machines, candy aisles, drive through lanes and take a stand to take the road less traveled by the majority around us. Just as the Bible encourages us to “take the narrow gate” that leads to eternal life, we need to take the narrow way that leads to our bodies best health.

P.S. Have you thought about “taking the road less traveled” in your health or for weight loss, but find it’s almost too difficult to maintain?? I’m launching a brand new online community specifically to help you along that journey and the doors are NOW OPEN! I’ve got some awesome “grand opening” specials to commemorate and really think you should take a look. I think you’ll like what you see. 😉

I have a live training called “Reclaiming Your Health” ready to go for next Monday, June 27th @ 4pm PST, but it’s only for those who jump on board during the grand opening celebration and who are ready to take back their health–and their waistlines!

Take heart–God is greater than your struggle, greater than your strife

Blog Post Image

When life is hard, obstacles seems overwhelming, you can’t see past the current struggle or situation–take heart! God is greater and more powerful than we can imagine.

One of my newest favorite recording artists is Blanca, and her words ring in my ears of her song Greater Is He. (<– click the link to listen)

Greater is He living in me
Than he who is in the world
Whatever may come, His strength is enough
My heart is at peace, for greater is He…

And in His name, giants will fall
And in His name, oceans will part
And in His name, there’s nothing we won’t overcome
This is our God, this is our God

Such a beautiful message of hope, peace and assurance that no matter our circumstances, no matter our current struggle or obstacles, God is bigger than them all.

>>Final thought: Are you at peace amidst your concerns? Are you resting in His name? Or have you given in to the fear that God won’t help, can’t help and you’re alone to fight this battle? “For my yolk is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:30

Choose to take off the heavy burden and leave it at feet of Jesus. It takes faith and courage, but you can do it. Ask God to envelope you’re in His peace while you weather the storm knowing He is ultimately in control.

Your sister in Christ,

P.S. I wish you a beautiful Father’s Day tomorrow, and encourage you to view this day not only for honoring your earthly father, but appreciating, reflecting and praising God for being the ultimate example of a loving father. Perhaps take a few quiet minutes to read through the Psalms or Genesis 1 about the beauty, strength and power of our Almighty Father, who has adopted us into his kingdom by the blood of His son Jesus. The most perfect sacrifice given for us, His children. Amen.

“In Christ alone my hope is found…”

I love how God speaks to us through songs and how our bodies and souls are so integrated to respond to music.

Given that my name is Melody, it would be easy to surmise that I am musically inclined and wouldn’t be a shame it if wasn’t so? Lol I’m glad it is.

I wanted to encourage you with the lyrics of this beautiful song that you may or may not have heard before.

For when life is hard, unpredictable, seemingly cold and unfair, it is our ultimate hope in Christ that we should turn to, as He is the only thing never-changing, ever true, always there.

In Christ Alone Listen on itunes here.

In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand
—————————————-
In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
‘Til on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live
—————————————————–
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin’s curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ
——————————————————
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life’s first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I’ll stand
>>Final Thought: Have a beautiful day and may these powerful words echo in your mind today that you were bought for a pricethe lamb of God died for you.
Your sister in Christ,
~Dr. Melody
P.S. I was so honored and had a big milestone happen yesterday. An article I write for an online magazine called Stronger Women Are Leaders was just recently published! Give it a read and comment on the article page. I’d love to hear your thoughts!
