God’s design has always been going against the grain, against the majority, the road less taken.
The Bible tells us in Matthew 7:13-14:
“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
What’s so interesting to me is that we can apply the exact same truth to our health and modern society. I don’t think the world Jesus lived in had the same health troubles and concerns we face today–many of which are our own doing.
We’ve created our own downward spiral as a society because of the culture and habits we’ve cultivated around fast food, candy, soft drinks and convenience.
So it takes a wise person, someone astute, who chooses to see past the everyday ploys of marketing, advertising and gimmicks, and who intentionally decides to take the road less traveled–that ultimately leads to better health.
Going against the grain (both literally and figuratively) is the only way we will begin to reclaim our health, our vitality, our energy and our waistlines! But man it’s not easy!
Without going into an extensive nutritional lesson on how grain, wheat and gluten negatively affect our bodies, I encourage you to begin reclaiming your life and the health God created your body to have–one bite at a time.
>> Final thought: This week I encourage you to go against what is so easily available to us via soda machines, candy aisles, drive through lanes and take a stand to take the road less traveled by the majority around us. Just as the Bible encourages us to “take the narrow gate” that leads to eternal life, we need to take the narrow way that leads to our bodies best health.
Your sister in Christ,
~Dr. Melody

I’ve got some awesome “grand opening” specials to commemorate and really think you should take a look. I think you’ll like what you see. 😉
I have a live training called “Reclaiming Your Health” ready to go for next Monday, June 27th @ 4pm PST, but it’s only for those who jump on board during the grand opening celebration and who are ready to take back their health–and their waistlines!

Eating healthy can be hard sometimes! Especially if you don’t plan ahead, or there’s an unexpected office party, and for goodness sake the holiday temptations will be at every turn in less than a month!
Sometimes what we need is a perspective shift.
In this video I talk about just that. The perspective shift that’s needed to make navigating those sugary temptations or going on that run so much easier!
And that’s the key phrase, “we CAN fulfill.”
It can be done.
And it starts today.
With a decision.
With a calling.
With owning the responsibility.
With stopping the self-sabotage.
With taking joy in God’s creation.
With making better choices.
With choosing to plan ahead.
With choosing to pass the drive-thru.
With taking joy in eating from the earth.
With showing love to your body by keeping it active and healthy.
With each little decision adding up to a healthier body and a healthier you.
I hope you took the 5 minutes to watch the video above, as I’m truly sharing from my heart what each of us are capable of. If not, take that time right now.
Stepping into a healthier lifestyle is really answering the call to love our bodies and show that love to God through our actions.
"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies." 1 Cor. 6:19-20

Kicking off Day 2 of my self-imposed 30 Day Self Improvement Challenge – combining a eating plan (The Whole 30) as well as The Miracle Morning routine. Click the links to learn more and to even get started yourself!
Wasn’t too thrilled about getting up early this morning (could the excitement and newness of this challenge already start to wear off??) but I’m doing this to prove to myself that I CAN follow through on commitments and I CAN succeed at whatever I put my mind to!
Finally towards the end of my Miracle Morning routine I was beginning to actually feel more awake, and once I blended up my new pre-made frozen smoothie
breakfast (see pics), then I was feeling great and was happy to reap the benefits of making myself do something different and felt energized.
Hopefully tomorrow morning I’ll start to feel more awake earlier on…but regardless, I’ve got to do it, knowing the results will come from persistence and commitment.
I made a few quick videos about how to make pre-made awesome green smoothies, as well as a demonstration on how to do proper forward lunges for the exercise portion of my Miracle Morning routine.
I’d love your input on what some of your favorite healthy breakfast ideas are, and if you’ve got any questions on exercises or how to modify anything for your given situation, just let me know! The physical therapist in my would love to help! 🙂
