I hope you had a wonderful and meaningful Thanksgiving yesterday. We are surrounded by things to be thankful for, especially living in the United States, but sometimes we need to take the time to take a step back to see it from a new perspective.
I went on a great run just shy of 3 miles this morning in the beautiful and crisp New Mexico air. It felt good to work off some extra calories from yesterday’s festivities.

Eating healthy can be hard sometimes! Especially if you don’t plan ahead, or there’s an unexpected office party, and for goodness sake the holiday temptations will be at every turn in less than a month!
Sometimes what we need is a perspective shift.
In this video I talk about just that. The perspective shift that’s needed to make navigating those sugary temptations or going on that run so much easier!
And that’s the key phrase, “we CAN fulfill.”
It can be done.
And it starts today.
With a decision.
With a calling.
With owning the responsibility.
With stopping the self-sabotage.
With taking joy in God’s creation.
With making better choices.
With choosing to plan ahead.
With choosing to pass the drive-thru.
With taking joy in eating from the earth.
With showing love to your body by keeping it active and healthy.
With each little decision adding up to a healthier body and a healthier you.
I hope you took the 5 minutes to watch the video above, as I’m truly sharing from my heart what each of us are capable of. If not, take that time right now.
Stepping into a healthier lifestyle is really answering the call to love our bodies and show that love to God through our actions.

Last week I took a poll online in the Facebook group I lead asking what the biggest challenge people had when it comes to self improvement, and the #1 answer was healthy eating.
So I started thinking “How I could help you make that easier?”
And what came to mind was harnessing the power of our own subconscious mind!
The way we do this is through affirmations.
Affirmations are positive self-talk statements, regardless if they’re currently true or not.
They are talking to yourself in a way that makes your brain believe it is true, and helps you subconsciously start to turn those things into a reality.
Here’s an example of three of my favorite healthy eating affirmations:
I’ve created a free audio of 10 Healthy Eating Affirmations that you can begin listening to, and repeating aloud every day that will begin to make it easier to make better choices.
But the key is persistence and consistency.
So if you get started, make a personal commitment to yourself to do begin to do this every day as a part of your routine in order for it to begin working for you.
